Hi all,
I would like to invite as many of you as possible to a voice chat on our zone's ventrilo server on Saturday 9th October 12 AM GMT. (if you are unsure of where you are in relation to GMT, might I make a suggestion that you visit my site at: http://www.racheldk.webhop.net where you will find a couple of lines of text up the top comparing your computer's current time with GMT time.)
I know this formal invitation is way way last minute but for whoever can make it, my main intention of it is just to see whether it is a good time for a future voice chat that I will be hoasting (or thinking of it - spose it really all depends on user interest. Because I am well aware that these ventrilo chats will be still limitted to broadbanders.)
I won't say that much about the weekly chats I will be hoasting, but it will be a "youth affairs" type chat where we will pick a topic and discuss and support each other with it. (topics such as blindness issues, mobility, education, seeking employment, relationships, etc.)
Am still working out the nitty-gritty but for those who can turn up tomorrow, we can discuss more about this together.
Sorry it's so last minute but guess I just got it in my head that I should be doing a guinneapig session, this morning.
So whoever can show, do so and we'll look forward to your company. to those who can't, don't worry. just join us in the future chats.
Oh and of course, reply to this if it's not a good time for you each week and we can negotiate.

Just so you know, that time will work for me in the future. Unfortunatley, i'll be out of town this week. I hope we have good turn out... it sounds fun!
Ordinarily I'd love to do it, but because Vancouver is the only place I can get any form of afordable broadband, I can't do it, and it's a long way to go to get broadband access, two and a half hours to the nearest airport, and an hour and a half flying time, so that's how removed I am from a major city.
i'll love to join, but unfortunately i can't make it. cause somebody is using my bedroom lol. all the best for the chat. i really hope all of you guys can join in. cheers.
I'd love to do this! Sounds great! I'm not sure if I'll be able to make new ones, but when there is another, do post on the boards or PM me, and I'll try to make it. I just got a new computer, and haven't got Ventrilo up and running yet, so I'll tackle that in the meantime.

To save some people the trouble of leaving the sight, here is how the time of 12:00 midnight breaks down around the world. On the west coast of North America, this is both the west coast of the US and Canada, that would be 5:00 PM Friday. This also includes Arizona. Moving east in to Colorado, Utah, Navada, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico, and portions of western canada like Alberta, that is 6:00 Friday evening. Continuing to move east, we have Alabama, Oaklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Manitoba, I think also sascatuan but not sure, anyone on central daylight time, that is 7:00 PM Friday. Moving to the east, we have the rest of the US, from Florida to maine, it will be at 8:00 PM Friday. This also includes Ontario, Qubec, mexico, etc. For eastern canada, this includes Nova Scosia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward island, that is 9:00 PM friday. For Newfoundland, that's 9:30 PM. Now it's time to take a trip acros the pond. In the UK, this voice chat thing will be taking place at 1:00 AM saturday. For our users in Sweden, The netherlands, France Belgium, Hungary, the czek republic, Serbia etc, that is 2:00 AM Saturday morning. This also includes west central Africa, but I don't think we have any users there. In places like Greece, Finland, Egypt, Israel, etc, it is 3:00 Am Saturday. In Kenya, Iraq, most of Russia, it is 4:00 AM. In Western Australia, Singapore, Tyland, most of China, , that is 8:00 AM. In Japan, south australia, etc, that is 9:00 AM. in New South Wales, Victoria, and Darwen Australia that's 10:00 AM. In New Zealand, it would be that would be 12:00 noon on Saturday.
Any specific time questions u may have, I'll try and answer them when I can. I won't make it though because my GF and I r going out.
If any one needs help setting up ventrilo, drop me a pm, and in it include an instant messanger name that I can reach you at to help you set it up. Make sure that you have a microphone though, and a broadband connection. I had someone once ask me to help them setup ventrilo only to find out they didn't have a microphone. :)

Also. If you tried to log into the server and it didn't work for you, there may be a problem with the username file updating. I should have it fixed by tonight. I think this may apply to Edowel, others.
